Against the Tempest's Roar

Welcome to your Adventure Log!

A blog for your campaign

Four Years ago, you witnessed prophecy unfold.

“Five at the brink of the desolation stand as one against the tempest’s roar.”

Soon after hearing these words, you witnessed the destruction of the nation of Cyre. Countless lives were lost from the mysterious gray mists on the Day of Mourning. This was the day that eventually led to an armistice among the nations of the continent of Khorvare, and put an end (for now) to the century long Last War between the 5 nations of the once united kingdom of Galifar. The battles ceased, and borders were drawn (though certainly not to everyone’s liking).

After recent events, you can’t help but wonder if there is even more to the prophecy.

You accepted the invitation of the Lord Major Bren ir’Gadden who has invited you as special guests. His invitation was extended to show his continued appreciation for rescuing him and his aide, Aric Blacktree, four years ago. The ceremony was interrupted by a strange creature who appeared to be sent there for unknown reasons. In the aftermath, the very same Mark of Prophecy and words of prophecy seen 4 years ago mysteriously manifests again.

You easily track down the source of the beast to a mysterious home near the bottom of Dalannan Tower, in the Center Bridge district of the Lower Menthis Plateau. It just so happens to be nearly directly below the location of the ceremony held at Morgrave University.

You enter the suspicious home, with windows covered in boards and bars, with hints of flashing light peaking out from behind and a constant low hum. You find members of the Red Jackal, goblins and a half-orc guarding the place. You also find signs that the mysterious demon came from here.

What is it they are guarding, and why? What is causing that hum? Who is behind this? Why was the demon sent, and what does the prophecy mean?
